Birla Corporation: The company reported a sharply higher profit at Rs 148.2 crore in Q3FY21 against Rs 81.5 crore in Q3FY20, while revenue rose to Rs 1,776.6 crore from Rs 1,715 crore YoY.

Vedanta: Mined metal production in Q3FY21 was 2.44 lakh tonnes, up 4% year-on-year, on account of higher iron ore production. Integrated metal production up 7% year-on-year to 2.35 lakh tonnes due to lower concentrate treatment. Integrated saleable silver production up 23% to 5.8 moz, due to higher lead production, partially offset by lower grade at SK mines. Iron ore production in Karnataka up 21% to 1.4 million tonnes while pig iron production down 19% to 1.45 lakh tonnes. Total saleable production of steel up 7% year-on-year to 3.4 lakh tonnes. Aluminium production at Lanjigarh refinery down 14% to 4.07 lakh tonnes


Bajaj Auto: Looking to resume booking for its electric scooter Chetak in 2-3 months. Bookings had closed in March 2020 and had not reopened due to supply chain constraints.


Asian Paints: Expects demand conditions to remain strong in Q4FY21. The company will wait to see if raw material prices sustain at these levels before taking a call on any price changes.


SRF: All business segments returned to normal operations. Specialty Chemicals business did well owing to strong demand from the overseas market, higher capacity utilisation and significant cost-savings. Fluorochemicals business saw revival in demand of refrigerants. New capacities in Thailand and Hungary aided volume growth and both BOPET and BOPP segments witnessed robust performance. 


Technical textiles business did well aided by faster-than-expected recovery in the tyre industry.


Jubilant Lifesciences: Record date for the demerger of Life Sciences Ingredients from the company into Jubilant Ingrevia has been set as February 5, 2021. Shareholders will get one share of Jubilant Ingrevia for every one share held in Jubilant Life.


Transport Corporation of India: To consider interim dividend for FY21 at its board meeting on February 3, record date for which will be February 11, 2021.


Punjab & Sind Bank: NPA account of M/s Supertech Township Projects with outstanding dues of Rs 94.29 crore has been declared as fraud and reported to the Reserve Bank of India. The account has been fully provided for.


Shriram City Union Finance: Has approved the issue of Secured, principal, protected, market-linked NCDs of face value of Rs 10 lakh each for an amount of Rs 125 crore with green shoe option of upto Rs 25 crore aggregating upto 1,500 NCDs amounting to Rs 150 crore on Private Placement basis.


IEX: Has approved an interim dividend of Rs 2.50 per share of face value of Re 1 each for the financial year ending March 31, 2021. The record date for the payment of interim dividend is January 30, 2021.


Zensar Technologies: Has declared interim dividend of Rs 1.20 per share of Rs 2 each. The record date for the same is February 1, 2021.

Tata Communications: The company reported consolidated profit at Rs 309.4 crore in Q3FY21 against Rs 384.8 crore in Q2FY21, revenue fell to Rs 4,222.8 crore from Rs 4,401.1 crore QoQ.


Federal Bank: Rakesh Jhunjhunwala reduced stake in the bank to 2.4% in December quarter from 2.71% in September quarter. Mutual funds raised shareholding to 29.90% from 25.02%, but FPIs reduced to 21.69% from 24.64% in same periods.


ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company: The company reported profit at Rs 313.53 crore in Q3FY21 against Rs 294.11 crore in Q3FY20, total income rose to Rs 3,058.91 crore from Rs 2,798.9 crore, premium income increased to Rs 2,611.41 crore from Rs 2,456.16 crore YoY.


Vedanta: MFs reduced stake in the company to 5.56% in December quarter from 8.64% in September quarter 2020, while FPIs also reduced shareholding to 16.06% from 17.50% in same periods but Investment Opportunities V Pte Ltd name appeared with 1.49% stake in December quarter but Societe Generale, which was having 2.33% stake in September quarter, did not appear in December quarter.


Skipper: The company reported consolidated profit at Rs 11.45 crore in Q3FY21 against Rs 4.63 crore in Q3FY20, revenue rose to RS 459.8 crore from Rs 299.8 crore YoY.


IIFL Finance: Wholly-owned subsidiary IIFL Home Finance enters into a co-lending arrangement with Standard Chartered Bank for extending credit to MSME loans (loans against property). Under this partnership, both the players will co-originate these loans and IIFL Home Finance will service the customers through the entire loan life-cycle including sourcing, documentation, collection and loan servicing.


CEAT: Company says growth during the quarter was achieved on the back of new capacities across segments, particularly passenger car, two-wheeler and farm segments. The replacement market has been buoyant owing to consumer preference in personal mobility and strong rural demand. The company expects some margin pressure in Q4FY21 due to increasing raw material prices. Reduced debt by Rs 260 crore during the quarter.


HG Infra Engineering: Gets appointed date from NHAI as January 15, 2021 for construction of the proposed Rewari bypass in Haryana on a Hybrid Annuity Mode. The 14.4 km project is scheduled to be completed in two years and HG Infra placed a bid of Rs 522.02 crore.


Prince Pipes & Fittings: Receives first tranche of Rs 26.1 crore from promoter group entity Prince Marketing. The company had remitted an advance amount of Rs 40 crore to Prince Marketing for purchase of immovable property in Mumbai.


Sobha: Wholly-owned subsidiary Sobha Highrise Ventures Pvt. ltd. has acquired 100% equity shares of Annalakshmi Land Developers. Shares have been acquired at Rs 175.16 each at a face value of Rs 10 each. The company will hold the land parcel for future development.


Adani Transmission: Transmission lines are operating at greater than 99.83% availabilities. Added 650 ckt kms to its network during the quarter. Under construction projects progressing as per scheduled. Expected to commission eight out of the nine transmission projects by the end of 2021. Collection efficiency reached 109.9% in Q3 due to recoveries from H1FY21. Distribution loss for AEML is improving consistently and stood at 6.37% during the quarter.


Indian Bank: A meeting of Board of Directors is scheduled on January 22, 2021 to consider a proposal for raising of fund/equity capital by the Bank through QIP/FPO/Rights issue and/or in combination thereof.


IRFC IPO Update: Issue subscribed 1.04 times at the close of the second day of bidding. Institutional subscription remains zero, portion for HNIs subscribed 18.2% while that for retail investors is subscribed 2.01 times.

Mindtree: The company has reported a sharply higher profit at Rs 326.5 crore in Q3FY21 against Rs 253.7 crore, while revenue rose to Rs 2,023.7 crore from Rs 1,926 crore QoQ.


Maruti Suzuki: The company increased prices by up to Rs 34,000 ex showroom in Delhi, effective from January 18.


Cholamandalam Investment: Arun Alagappan tendered his resignation as MD and Director of the company.


L&T Finance Holdings: The Board of Directors have approved the terms of the Rights Issue announced on November 9, 2020. The board has approved the issuance of 46.13 crore fully paid-up shares of face value of Rs 10 each, for an aggregate amount of Rs 2,998.61 crore. The record date has been set as January 22, 2021 and the issue price of Rs 65 per share is at a discount of 34.67% to Monday's closing price. The issue will open on February 1, 2021 and close on February 15, 2021. The rights entitlement ratio is 17 shares for every 74 shares held by the eligible shareholders of the company.


Tata Steel: Bloomberg reports quoting Swedish business daily Dagens Industri that talks of a potential acquisition of the company's IJmuiden steel mill are running out of steam as SSAB's two largest shareholders are skeptical to the idea. The two shareholders have 10.5% and 10.4% of the total votes in SSAB.


Apollo Hospitals: QIP issue opens today. Bloomberg reports that the company intends to raise as much as Rs 1,000 crore through the sale of 40.7 lakh shares. The floor price for the QIP issue has been fixed at Rs 2,508.58 per share, which is a 3.4% discount to Monday's closing price.


Maruti Suzuki India: Has increased the price of select models due to increase in various input costs. The price change varies across models and ranges up to Rs 34,000 (Ex-Showroom - Delhi). The new prices are effective from January 18.


IRB Infrastructure Developers: SPV achieves financial closure for Gandeva-Ena HAM project on the upcoming Vadodara-Mumbai expressway in Gujarat. Lenders extend project financing worth Rs 747 crore, NHAI support for the project will be Rs 702 crore. The company will infuse Rs 253 crore as its equity contribution. The project concession will comprise of 730 days for construction and 15 years for operations and maintenance thereafter.


RBL Bank: Has approved the re-appointment of Vishwavir Ahuja as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Bank for a period of three years, from June 30, 2021 to June 29, 2024.


Jindal Stainless (Hisar): Jindal Stainless Steelway, a subsidiary of the company has acquired 1.56 crore equity shares of Rs 10, constituting 67% of paid up capital of its associate company namely JSS Steelitalia for a cash consideration of Rs 2.41 crore. After the acquisition, JSS Steelitalia has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jindal Stainless Steelway and a step-down subsidiary of the company.


United Drilling Tools: To set up a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat, near the Mundra Port. The plant will be built over 35 acres with an initial capital outlay of Rs 15 crore and is proposed to be entirely funded through internal accruals. The company said it expects 50-70% incremental revenues from this development over the next two years.


TVS Motor: A meeting of the Board of Directors is scheduled on January 28 for declaration of interim dividend, if any for FY 2020-21. The record date for the purpose of interim dividend, if declared, will be February 5, 2021.

Vikas EcoTech: Albula Investment Fund reduced its shareholding in the company to 0.98% from 8.3% earlier via market sale.


InterGlobe Aviation: IndiGo market share in December was unchanged at 53.9% compared to November 2020, while passenger load factor in December stood at 71.5% against 74.0% in November.


SpiceJet: The company's market share in December 2020 stood at 13.0% against 13.2% in November 2020, while passenger load factor increased to 78.0% from 77.7% in same periods.


Banking Stocks: RBI said the bank loan growth hit 9-month high of 6.7% for the week ended January 1. As per RBI Data, bank credit growth was last at 6.8% in April 2020.


Vedanta: The voluntary open offer for acquisition of over 37.17 crore shares will open on March 4 and close on March 18, 2021.


Wipro: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles partnered with Wipro to establish its first Global Digital Hub in India.


HDFC Bank: Chief Credit Officer Jimmy Tata sold 1,400 equity shares of the bank. Audit committee concluded that this was an inadvertent trade without intent to violate the bank's share dealing code or SEBI regulations. Imposed a penalty of Rs 10.2 lakh on Tata for violation of bank's PIT regulations.


Metropolis Healthcare: To acquire 100% equity in Dr. Ganesan's Hitech Diagnostic Centre in a cash and stock deal. The cash consideration will be Rs 511 crore and the company will issue up to 4.95 lakh equity shares on a preferential basis to the promoters of the company. The cash consideration will be funded through internal accruals and debt worth up to Rs 300 crore. Acquisition to allow metropolis to increase its B2C business in focus cities of Chennai and Bengaluru. Metropolis will get access to 31 laboratories and 68 collection centers of Hitech. The acquisition is likely to be completed within three months.


Dr Reddy's Laboratories: Gets approval from the Drug Control General of India to conduct phase 3 clinical trial for the Sputnik V vaccine in India. This will be conducted on 1,500 subjects as part of the randomised, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study in India.


Wipro: Has been chosen as the strategic technology services partner by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. To establish its first Global Digital Hub in Hyderabad. To source and build a talent pool of over 1,000 skilled consultants and technologists for the digital hub.


Piramal Enterprises: Piramal Group has won the bidding for DHFL. The group received 93.5% votes, while Oaktree Capital received 45% votes. Creditors representing 6.5% of the voting process abstained from casting a vote. A resolution plan needs minimum 66% vote to get approval from the committee of creditors, according to people in the know.


SAIL: Retail portion of the OFS was subscribed 5.22 times on Friday. Investors bid for nearly 12.5 crore shares as compared to the 5.16 crore shares on offer.


JBM Auto: Received orders to supply 700 JBM 'CITYLIFE' fully AC BS-VI CNG low-floor buses from the Delhi Transport Corporation. Orders will be executed in the coming months. Size of the order is undisclosed.


CESC: Board approves proposal to acquire 23.18% stake in Noida Power Company Ltd., an associate company. This will be done for a cash consideration of Rs 325 per share of NPCL and the transaction is expected to be completed within a month. Post this, CESC's indirect holding will rise to 72.73%. This is in line with the company's rationale to reorient and reorganise the company's power distribution business.


Glenmark Pharmaceuticals: Has redeemed U.S. $10,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of its 2021 Notes, representing approximately 5% of the aggregate principal amount of the 2021 Notes at the time of initial listing. Further, no amount is outstanding in connection with the 2021 Notes.


Page Industries: A meeting of the Board of Directors of the company is scheduled on February 10 to consider declaration of a second Interim dividend for the Financial Year 2020-21. The Record Date for the purpose of payment of the dividend, if any will be February 19, 2021.

Infosys: The company reported a 7.3% rise in profit at Rs 5,197 crore in Q3FY21 against Rs 4,845 crore in Q2FY21, revenue rose 5.5% to Rs 25,927 crore from Rs 24,570 crore QoQ. The company raised FY21 constant currency revenue growth guidance to 4.5-5% from 2-3% earlier and margin guidance to 24-24.5% from 23-24% earlier.


Wipro: IT services dollar revenue rose 3.9% to $2,071 million in Q3FY21 from $1,992.4 million Q2FY21, the growth is the highest in 36 quarters. The company sees Q4 dollar revenue growth at 1.5-3.5% over Q3.


SAIL: The government will sell up to a 10% stake in the company via offer for sale on January 14-15 and the offer price has been fixed at Rs 64 per share.


IndusInd Bank: SEBI has granted bank's promoters extension until February 18 on warrant subscription, according to a CNBC-TV18 report.

Currencies
The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index gained 0.2% to 1,122.79.
The euro decreased 0.4% to $1.2157.

Bonds
The yield on 10-year Treasuries dipped four basis points to 1.09%, the biggest decrease in five weeks.
Germany’s 10-year yield decreased five basis points to -0.52%, the largest dip in seven months.
Britain’s 10-year yield fell five basis points to 0.307%, the first retreat in more than a week and the biggest drop in more than a month.

Commodities
West Texas Intermediate crude fell 0.6% to $52.88 a barrel, the first retreat in more than a week and the largest fall in a week.
Silver weakened 1.5% to $25.25 per ounce.

Stocks To Watch


Hero MotoCorp: Has expanded its presence in Central America. The company appointed new distributor partners in Nicaragua and Honduras, with aggressive expansion plans for both countries. The company will launch a range of premium motorcycles in both countries and expand its network with extensive customer touch-points and flagship stores in key markets.


Tech Mahindra: To acquire 100% shareholding of Payments Technology Services. Acquisition to be done for cash consideration of $9 million. The transaction is expected to be completed by March 31, 2021. The company said that the acquired capabilities in the payment space is consistent with strategy of pivoting the business towards product & platform implementation.


Bharti Airtel: Has received approvals for its relevant downstream investments. Accordingly, the company has initiated the process to revise its foreign investment limit, as notified to its depositories, to 100% with immediate effect.


Bharat Rasayan: The Board of Directors have approved the buyback of up to 93,472 shares of Rs 10 each, comprising of 2.20% of the total paid-up equity capital of the company. The buyback price of Rs 11,500 per share is a 11.1% premium to Tuesday’s closing price. The overall cost of the buyback process would be Rs 107 crore.


Tata Motors: Global wholesales rise to 2,78,915 units in Q3FY21, higher by 37% quarter-on-quarter and by 1% year-on-year. Global wholesales of all commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range declined 4% year-on-year to 90,365 units. Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles rose 4% year-on-year to 1,88,550 units. Further, the company also issued a clarification on reports of a partnership with Tesla, saying that it has not taken any decision regarding a strategic partner for its PV business and categorically denies any and all rumours suggesting the same.


Dishman Carbogen Amcis: OFS for Non-retail investors gets demand for 66.8 lakh shares as compared to the 54.6 lakh on offer. Bids were received at an indicative price of Rs 140.11 per share. Further the company will exercise the Oversubscription Option to the extent of 32.1 lakh equity shares, in addition to the Base Offer Size. Accordingly, the total Offer Size will now be 92.8 lakh equity shares representing 5.92% of the total paid up equity share capital of the company. The OFS for retail investors opens for subscription today.


BASF: The National Company Law Tribunal, Mumbai has sanctioned the Scheme of Merger by absorption of BASF Performance Polyamides India, a wholly-owned subsidiary, with BASF India, effective February 1, 2021.


Nava Bharat Ventures: CARE has revised the credit ratings of Nava Bharat Energy India, one of the subsidiaries of the company. The rating agency has revised the credit rating of the Long-term bank Facilities worth Rs 50 crore of the subsidiary company to A- from BBB- and rating of the Short-term Bank Facilities worth Rs 20 crore has been revised to A-;stable/A2+ from BBB-;stable/A3.


India Glycols: India Ratings & Research has affirmed the company's Long-term Issuer Rating as A-/Stable. The rating agency has affirmed A-/Stable rating for term loan of Rs 452.43 crore. Further the rating agency has affirmed the rating of fund-based limit of Rs 415 crore and Non-fund-based limit of Rs 1,1 53.35 as A-/Stable/A2+.

Stocks

The S&P 500 Index was little changed at 3,801.19 as of 4:06 p.m. New York time.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2% to 31,068.69.

The Nasdaq Composite Index climbed 0.3% to 13,072.43.

Currencies

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index sank 0.6% to 1,120.16, the biggest dip in almost six weeks.

The euro increased 0.5% to $1.2205, the largest increase in more than three weeks.

The British pound jumped 1.1% to $1.3667, the strongest in more than a week on the biggest jump in more than two months.

The Japanese yen strengthened 0.5% to 103.73 per dollar, the first advance in a week and the largest climb in more than five weeks.


Bonds

The yield on 10-year Treasuries dipped one basis point to 1.13%, the first retreat in more than a week.

Germany’s 10-year yield gained three basis points to -0.47%, the highest in more than four months.

Britain’s 10-year yield increased four basis points to 0.352%, reaching the highest in almost six weeks on its sixth straight advance and the biggest climb in almost three weeks.


Commodities

West Texas Intermediate crude increased 1.7% to $53.15 a barrel, hitting the highest in almost a year with its sixth consecutive advance.

Silver strengthened 2.7% to $25.57 per ounce, the first advance in a week.

Indo Count Industries: Indo Count Australia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company has been voluntarily deregistered by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission on October 7, 2020 as per the intimation received from the ASIC on January 11. Indo Count Australia has ceased to be a subsidiary of the company from October 7, 2020.


Laurus Labs: The wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, Laurus Synthesis, has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary under name of Laurus Ingredients with effect from January 9, for undertaking Ingredients Business and also for setting up Greenfield projects for the new Synthesis Business.

GAIL: Board meeting is scheduled on January 15 to consider the proposal of buyback of shares.


Tata Motors: Jaguar Land Rover's retail sales fell 9 percent YoY to 1,28,469 units in the October-December period but up by 13.1 percent on a QoQ basis.


Force Motors: Board has approved raising up to Rs 500 crore via NCDs.


Emami: MFs reduced stake in the company to 20.41% in December quarter, from 22.14% in the September quarter, while FIIs increased shareholding to 9.62% from 8.95% in same periods.


Cummins India: MFs reduced stake in the company to 17.12% in December quarter, from 18.63% in September quarter. Aditya Birla Sun Life Trustee and L&T Mutual Fund Trustee names did not appear in December quarter's shareholding pattern. LIC lowered its stake in the company to 6.12% from 6.74% in same periods.


Dishman Carbogen Amcis: Promoter Adimans Technologies LLP will sell 3.87% stake in the company via offer for sale on January 12-13, with an option to additionally sell up to 2.05% shares


Dr Reddy's Laboratories: Independent Data Safety and Monitoring Board has reviewed the safety data from Phase 2 clinical trial of the Sputnik V vaccine and recommended the phase 3 recruitment and to continue to the trial without any modifications. The DSMB concluded that no safety concerns were identified and that the study has met primary endpoints of safety. The data has been submitted to the DCGI for review and approval to continue phase 3 clinical trials.


Tata Motors: Jaguar Land Rover reported second successive quarter-on-quarter recovery in retail sales in 2020. The retail sales rose 13.1% to 1.28 lakh units from 1.13 lakh units in the preceding quarter and declined 9% year-on-year during the October-December period. China sales rose 19.1% year-on-year and 20.2% on the prior quarter. Retail sales in North America rose 31.7% and 20.5% in Europe on the prior quarter. However, the luxury carmaker said that sales in America, Overseas and Europe are yet to recover to pre-Covid levels.


Thyrocare Technologies: Saw significant business revival in Q3 after business activities resumed across all states. The non-Covid business in particular is showing growth after the end of the festive season. Marketing campaigns launched to promote preventive healthcare packages are showing promising results. Q3 in general is observed to be the least contributing quarter to the annual topline historically, though this year, revival of business coupled with aggressive marketing has enabled us to achieve about 34% YoY growth in the quarter. Covid RTPCR tests continue to contribute in terms of volume of tests performed in Q3.


Tata Communications: Rekha Rakesh Jhunjhunwala acquires 1.12% stake in the company during the October-December period


Dishman Carbogen Amcis: Promoter Adimans Technologies to sell up to 60.71 lakh shares of face value of Rs 2 each through an Offer for Sale. The shares to be sold represent 3.87% of the total issued and paid-up equity share capital of the company. The company retains an oversubscription option of 32.14 lakh shares of face value of Rs 2 each or 2.05% of the total equity. OFS for non-retail investors to open on January 12 and for Retail Investors on January 13. The Floor Price for the offer will be Rs 140 per share which is on par with Monday's closing price.


DCM Shriram: The Board of Directors will consider payment of interim dividend for the financial year 2020-21 on January 19. The record date for the purpose of interim dividend, if approved, will be January 28.


GMM Pfaudler: A meeting of Board of Directors is scheduled to be held on January 20 to consider and approve payment of third interim dividend for the financial year 2020-21, if any. Record date for the payment third interim dividend, if any shall be January 29, 2021.


GAIL: A meeting of Board of Directors will be held on January 15 to consider buyback of the fully paid-up equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each and declare interim dividend for the financial year 2020-21.


SRF: A meeting of Board of Directors is scheduled to be held on January 21 to consider a proposal relating to declaration of second interim dividend for financial year 2020-21. The Record date for the payment of interim dividend, if any will be February 1.

Greenlam Industries: A company under the name Greenlam Poland LLC has been incorporated on January 8 in Republic of Poland, to carry out the business of marketing and distribution of decorative laminates and other paper and wood based products. Greenlam Asia Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, holds 99% shares in Greenlam Poland LLC, and balance 1% share is held by Greenlam Industries.
