Stocks

The S&P 500 Index dipped 0.3% to 3,958.86 as of 4:02 p.m. New York time.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3% to 33,070.94, the biggest fall in a week.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.1% to 13,045.40.

The Nasdaq 100 Index declined 0.5% to 12,896.54.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Index jumped 0.7% to 430.65, the highest in more than 13 months.


Currencies

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index rose 0.3% to 1,154.34, the highest in almost 20 weeks on the biggest advance in a week.

The euro dipped 0.4% to $1.172, the weakest in 21 weeks.

The British pound fell 0.3% to $1.3724.

The Japanese yen depreciated 0.5% to 110.34 per dollar, hitting the weakest in about a year with its fifth straight decline and the largest decrease in more than three weeks.


Bonds

The yield on two-year Treasuries rose less than one basis point to 0.14%.

The yield on 10-year Treasuries climbed less than one basis point to 1.71%, the highest in more than a week.

The yield on 30-year Treasuries fell three basis points to 2.37%, the biggest fall in a week.

Britain’s 10-year yield climbed four basis points to 0.824%, the highest in more than a week on the largest increase in more than a week.

Germany’s 10-year yield increased three basis points to -0.29%, the highest in more than a week.


Commodities

West Texas Intermediate crude decreased 1.9% to $60.38 a barrel.

Gold depreciated 1.7% to $1,682.95 an ounce, the weakest in more than 11 months on the biggest tumble in more than a month.

JSW Steel: Implements resolution plan for Bhushan Power & Steel. A sum of Rs 8,614 crore was arranged in a wholly-owned subsidiary through a mix of equity, optionally convertible instruments to JSW Steel and JSW Shiping & Logistics Pvt. Ltd. and the debt availed by PSL funds.


Adani Transmission: Signs definitive agreement with Essel Infraprojects for acquisition of Warara-Kurnool Transmission Ltd. The acquisition will be done for a cash consideration of Rs 3,370 crore. The asset will take the company closer to its target of setting up 20,000 circuit kilometers of transmission lines by 2022.


JSW Energy: Board has approved a proposal for issuance of green bonds by JSW Hydro Energy, the company's material subsidiary, for raising $750 million from international markets. The funds will be raised through issuance of non-convertible, senior, secured, fixed rate green bonds in the international markets, subject to market conditions and receipt of necessary approvals by JSWHEL.


Biocon: Partners with Libbs Farmaceutica to launch generic formulations in Brazil. As part of the out-licensing deal, Biocon will be responsible for drug development and manufacturing while Libbs will leverage its deep expertise and reach in Brazil to import, distribute and market, subject to approval from the country's regulatory agency.


HPCL: Entered into a Share Purchase Agreement for acquisition of shares of HPCL Shapoorji Energy Pvt. Ltd., an associate unlisted company of HPCL from SP Ports Pvt. Ltd., a JV partner. The consideration for the transaction will be paid in cash and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2021. HPCL Shapoorji Energy is in the process of setting and development of 5 MMTPA LNG storage and regasification terminal at Chhara in Gujarat.


Minda Industries: Approves expansion of Balwal Plant capacity to 1.8 lakh wheels per month from 1.2 lakh wheels per month. The fresh investment approved for the same is Rs 167 crore and the expanded production is likely to commence from January 1, 2022. The board has also approved investment to set up a new project for four-wheel lighting in Gujarat for Rs 89.69 crore. The project is expected to be commissioned in January 2022.


India Grid Trust: Has completed acquisition of 49% paid-up capital and management control of the NER II Transmission from Sterlite Grid 4 at the cost of Rs 4,625 crore. The remaining stake will be acquired in one or more tranches. The acquisition has increased IndiGrid's AUM by ~34% to Rs 20,000 crore. The acquisition has also added Rs 40-45 crore per annum to the net distributable cash flow.


Mazagon Dock: The company’s order book stood at Rs 50,705 crore as of January 31, 2021. Further the company has won order for repair of two Indian Coast Guard Fast Patrol vessels namely ICGS Achook and ICGS SB Phule. The repair order is worth around Rs 7 crore.


Lumax Industries: Board has approved Capital Expenditure of Rs 80 crore for setting up new manufacturing unit in Sanand, Gujarat to cater to the orders received from MG Motors and other customers. Further, the company will set up an office in Czech Republic to strengthen its technological capabilities.


Bliss GVS Pharma: High Court of Justice, Ghana has granted ex-parte interim relief to the company in a commercial suit for infringement of intellectual property rights and the Registrar has been ordered to seize the infringing products.


Shriram City Union Finance: Board has declared second interim dividend of Rs 10 for FY21. The record date for the same is April 7.


Adani Enterprise: A wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, Adani Road Transport, has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary called PRS Tolls. The company will act as a Special Purpose Vehicle for implementation of the road project to be awarded by NHAI.


PNC Infratech: Has approved divestment of its entire stake of 35% in Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway, an associate of the company to Cube Highways and Infrastructure PTE.
South Indian Bank: The RBI has given final approval for setting up of Wholly-Owned Non-Financial Subsidiary for undertaking activities permitted by the central bank.


NBCC: Has awarded the work for redevelopment of Netaji Nagar in New Delhi on an EPC basis including operation and maintenance to NKG Infra for at Rs 1,356 crore. 
PNC Infratech: Has approved divestment of its entire stake of 35% in Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway, an associate of the company to Cube Highways and Infrastructure PTE.

Mukand: Mukand completed the transfer of approximately 55 acres of surplus leasehold land at Thane to NTT Global Data Centers Nav2 fo Rs 801.51 crore which will be utilised for debt repayment. The company will complete the second and final tranche of sale of shares approximately Rs 500 crore in the joint venture, Mukand Sumi Special Steel to Jamnalal Sons in April. As a result, the total finance cost have reduced substantially and is expected to be further brought down in the coming years.


Minda Industries: The board of Minda Industries, the flagship company of UNO Minda Group, approved the expansion plans in its two businesses i.e. Four Wheel (4W) Lighting and 4W Alloy Wheel, considering the improved market scenario and increased demand, wherein the said businesses have been operating at near capacity.


Adani Transmission: Adani Transmission has signed definitive agreements with Essel Infraprojects for acquisition of Warora-Kurnool Transmission (WKTL). As per the agreement, WKTL will develop, operate, and maintain transmission lines aggregating to around 1,750 ckt km. The two significant, 765 kV inter-state transmission lines link Warora to Warangal and Chilakaluripeta to Kurnool via Hyderabad, with a new 765/400 kV sub-station at Warangal, which shall be built & operated as a part of the agreement.


Vascon Engineers: Vascon Engineers has received letter of acceptance amounting to Rs 515.63 crore from Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department for establishment of new medical colleges. The work has to be completed within 18 months from the date of receipt of letter of acceptance.


Lumax Industries: Lumax Industries approved capital expenditure amounting up to Rs 80 crore for setting up of new manufacturing unit(s) in Sanand, Gujarat to cater to the orders received from MG Motors and other customers. The total capex will be funded by mix of debt and internal accruals and peak annualized turnover is expected to be approximately Rs 150 crore post commissioning. The project is expected to be operational by Q3 FY22.

Maruti Suzuki India: To increase prices across models from April 1 owing to rise in input costs. This will be the second price hike undertaken by India's largest Passenger Carmaker after the one taken at the start of the year. The company had hiked vehicle prices by up to Rs 34,000 in January.


BPCL: Board has approved the Scheme of Amalgamation of Bharat Gas Resources with the company and their respective shareholders. The approval to the scheme is subject to receipt of necessary approvals from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, other competent authorities and satisfaction of applicable regulatory requirements.


Mahindra & Mahindra: The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Mahindra Defence Systems for supply of 1,300 Light Specialist Vehicles to the Indian Army at a cost of Rs 1,056 crore. The induction of the vehicles is planned to be completed over a period of four years.


Edelweiss Financial Services: Has announced completion of a strategic investment by PAG in Edelweiss Wealth Management. PAG has made an investment of Rs 2,366 crore in the wealth management business, including primary and secondary investment. Pursuant to these transactions, PAG Group and the company will be the shareholders in EWM, of which PAG will hold a controlling stake. Further, the board will meet on March 25 to consider interim dividend for FY21, if any.


KEC International: Has secured new orders worth Rs 1,429 crore across its various businesses. The company has secured orders worth Rs 701 crore for Transmission & Distribution projects while the railways business has secured orders worth Rs 366 crore. The company has also secured orders worth Rs 318 crore for infra works and worth Rs 44 crores for various types of cables. With these orders the company's current year order inflows have exceeded Rs 11,000 crore.


Varroc Engineering: Launches QIP on Monday in order to raise funds. The floor price of Rs 395.41 per share is a 2.83% discount to Monday's closing price. The board will meet again on or after March 25 to consider and approve the issue price for the QIP.


Tata Communications: The government has exited its shareholding in the company after selling its entire 26% stake. 16.12% stake was sold through the OFS, which fetched the government Rs 5,457 crore and the remaining 10% was sold to a strategic partner at the OFS discovered price for a sum of Rs 3,389 crore. The entire 26% stake sale has fetched the government Rs 8,846 crore.


BEML: The Disinvestment Secretary wrote on a social media post that the company's planned privatisation has received multiple Expressions of Interest. The transaction will now move to its second stage.


SBI Life Insurance: Board to meet on March 25 to consider interim dividend for FY21, if any. The record date for the same is April 5, 2021.


Vaibhav Global: Board has approved sub-division of one equity share of face value of Rs 10 each into five equity shares of Rs 2 each, subject to shareholders' approval.


Forbes & Company: Board has re-appointed Mahesh Tahilyani as Managing Director of the company for a further period of five years with effect from April 28, 2021.

Punjab National Bank: Has incorporated a new credit cards subsidiary called PNB Cards & Services Ltd. The subsidiary will provide non-financial support services for PNB's credit card business. PNB Cards & Services to be set up with an authorised capital of Rs 25 crore and paid up capital of Rs 15 crore.


HFCL: Has bagged an order worth Rs 221.16 crore from Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, for design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of telecommunication systems for Kanpur Metro (Corridor-I and Corridor-II) and Agra Metro (Corridor-I) Projects. The projects are expected to be completed by 2023.


TVS Motor Company: Board to meet on March 24 to consider and declare second interim dividend, if any for FY21. The record date for the same will be April 2.


Somany Ceramics: Board has declared an interim dividend of Rs 2.40 per equity share of Rs 2 each for FY21. The record date for the same is March 25. The board has also approved expansion of the production line of double fast firing to produce large format wall tile, at the Kassar Plant. This expansion will cost the company Rs 45 crore. Further the board will make investment in the share capital of Somany Piastrelle, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, to grant inter-corporate loan to SPPL, in one or more tranches with a maximum cap of Rs 90 crore. The proposed investment is towards setting up a greenfield project of 3.48 million sqm per annum of Glazed Vitrified Tiles at Dhanot, Gujarat by Somany Piastrelle.


BHEL: Has emerged as the lowest bidder for projects worth Rs 10,800 crore for supply of equipment for 6x700 megawatt nuclear power projects of Nuclear Power Corporation of India.


Satin Creditcare: Promoters have reduced their pledged shares to 3.09% from 8.9% in July 2020. The promoters hold 2.75 crore shares of the company of which, 8.5 lakh remain pledged.


IRCTC: 136 contracts, taken over from the railways as per the Catering Policy of 2017 and five long term contracts, that were kept in abeyance, have been terminated. This is in regards to the Madras High Court order to terminate all existing contracts of mobile catering. These contracts were for the regular trains, which are not in operation as on date. There has been no major impact of these terminations and the impact, if any, will be reassessed on resumption of regular train services.
